Cobie Smulders, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in Marvel's The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, appeared briefly in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot, but what fans really want to know is whether she'll be back for more. The Canadian actress says she's open to returning to the show, provided it works organically and that the storytelling is good--even if she's not particularly keen on spending another decade in Los Angeles like she's done while shooting How I Met Your Mother, the long-running sitcom that made her a familiar face to millions of U.S. viewers. "I'm up for it, it's just a matter of the direction that they decide to go with the show," Smulders told The Hollywood Reporter. "I don't know how much they'll be at the Command Center and how much they need me around. If it works out organically with the story line, then I'd be happy to come in but I truly don't know." That said, she's not anxious to get back into a steady gig on the West Coast once How I Met Your Mother wraps its ninth and final season--because she's planning a move, and hopes to focus on film, neither of which is particularly conducive to shooting a weekly TV series in Los Angeles. "It's hard to say. I'm planning a big move to New York, so that's a pretty huge factor in doing another series in Los Angeles," she admitted. "This is the joy and the terror of coming off of a show after nine years: What should I do, what should I not do?! If the right project comes along, of course I'd return to TV. But I'd like to focus in film and on theater right now."
