Earlier this month, many thought Kick-Ass 2 was a lock to win this weekend at the box office. However, The Butler has emerged as a surprise hit, beating all early expectations for the film. In the most recent box office numbers for Friday, The Butler is coming out ahead of Kick-Ass 2 and other new releases like Ashton Kutcher's Jobs and Harrison Ford's Paranoia. Lee Daniels' The Butler grossed an estimated $8.3 million at the box office on Friday, taking the #1 spot. Kick-Ass 2 finished second with an estimated $5.8 million. Other new releases fared much worse than The Butler and Kick-Ass 2. Jobs only took in $2.6 million for sixth place, and Paranoia is proving to be a total flop in tenth place with only $1.3 million.
