In a new interview with IGN in support of the final few episodes of her long-running sitcom How I Met Your Mother, actress Cobie Smulders tacitly confirmed that she was in Avengers: Age of Ultron, while refusing to divulge any details--"ever!"--and telling the interviewer that she has no idea whether her Marvel character, Maria Hill, will head back to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. anytime soon. Asked whether she's seen a copy of the script for Avengers: Age of Ultron, which the interviewer referred to her being in, Smulders responded, "I'm excited about it. I know everything there is to know, but I'm not saying anything about it -- until literally the movie's out on DVD. Then I'll be like, 'Wasn't that a great part?' But I'm very excited. Joss Whedon is the best man on the planet." Armed with that bit of non-information, they asked whether we might see Smulders on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. anytime soon. "As I sip my giant scotch..." she joked (a reference to her character on How I Met Your Mother), then added, "No, I don't know anything about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I've been watching, and I think it's such a great show. They're doing such a wonderful job, but I don't know about my personal involvement." Many fans have hoped that, with How I Met Your Mother ending and her schedule theoretically opening up, Smulders might take a recurring or regular role on the second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. While a second season isn't technically guaranteed yet, it's widely assumed that ABC would be crazy not to order it, considering Disney's investment in the show and the ratings success they've had with it.
