Marvel Comics Releases 75th Anniversary Celebration Trailer

Marvel Comics are celebrating the 75th anniversary of 1939's Marvel Comics #1 with a series of events and videos this year, including today's trailer for Marvel@75 featuring veteran editor Axel Alonso. While Marvel Comics didn't become truly dominant in superhero fiction until the '60s, when they changed the face of superheroes with The Fantastic Four and Spider-Man, Marvel Comics #1 featured their first foray into the nascent genre, with familiar names like Namor the Sub-Mariner, The Human Torch and The Angel appearing in its pages. 75 years later, Marvel's media empire is such that about 45 seconds of this two-minutes-and-change trailer is spent literally just listening to the company's Editor-in-Chief rattle off the names of the fan-favorite characters who will get the spotlight in 75th anniversary events throughout 2014.
