24: Live Another Day

As they did just before the launch of the Veronica Mars film, Amazon announced today that they had acquired the streaming rights to 24 and its upcoming event-miniseries spinoff 24: Live Another Day and will start streaming the old episodes before the show launches new ones. The deal also includes exclusive free streaming of 24: Live Another Day to Amazon Prime subscribers, much like they did with last summer's hit Under The Dome, which returns for an improbable second season later in 2014. Eight seasons of the Emmy-winning political thriller and TV movie 24:Redemption, which bridged Seasons 6 and 7, are already available on Prime Instant Video. Live Another Day will come to the service after the conclusion of its run. The series, which starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, will see a comic book lead-in to the Live Another Day series launching soon from IDW Publishing. The series will presumably still be available for individual-episode paid downloads the following day on Amazon, Google Play and iTunes, as are nearly all of Fox's scripted series.
