In addition to spawning a popular comic book series and hit TV show, The Walking Dead also has a very successful action figure line. Most of the show's main characters have their own figures, and now the host of The Walking Dead's after-show wants to be immortalized in plastic as well. During a recent episode of the @midnight comedy series on Comedy Central, host Chris Hardwick did a segment called "Figure Hating." "Thank you to ComicBook.com," said Hardwick. "They revealed the new Winter Soldier action figure based on the character from the upcoming movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The bad-ass figure comes with interchangeable head sculpts, an arsenal of weapons, and is available for pre-order." Hardwick added that not all action figures could that amazing, and he challenged the celebrity panel of Seth Green, Rachel Bloom, and Kevin Shinick to make up as many lame-o action figures as they could. After a couple lame-o suggestions, Rachel Bloom came up with a brilliant idea. "The AMC after-show playset with poseable Chris Hardwick," suggested Bloom. An excited Hardwick shouted, "Yes! Please someone make this for real!" We at ComicBook.com think a Chris Hardwick action figure is a great idea, and we're not just saying that because he gave a shout-out to ComicBook.com on national TV (although that certainly didn't hurt). With a Chris Hardwick action figure and Talking Dead playset, Walking Dead fans could create their own Walking Dead after-show utilizing the existing Walking Dead cast member action figures. It would be a dream come true for Walking Dead fans around the world. Hopefully, one of the toy companies will soon make this idea a reality.
