Will Smith Drops Out Of Superhero Movie Brilliance

Will Smith has dropped out of the lead role in Brilliance, the upcoming superhero film from Legendary Pictures, according to Deadline. Smith's departure is due to scheduling. Brilliance was to begin filming this summer, but has had it's production date moved multiple times already. Brilliance is based on the Marcus Sakey novel of the same name, the first in a series. The story is set in a world where certain people, called "brilliants," are born with special abilities. The film follows a "brilliant" federal agent with enhanced tracking abilities who is trying to hunt down a "brilliant" terrorist who is attempted to start a civil war. No word yet on a possible replacement for Smith. Brilliance currently has no release date.
