Jason Mamoa was a guest on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kimmel brought up Mamoa being cast as Aquaman in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Mamoa insisted that those reports are still just rumors, but sounded more like he was just waiting for permission to make the official announcement.
“Those are all rumors,” Mamoa said. “Well, that would be pretty exciting, what do you think? We’ll just have to wait and see.”
Mamoa has long been rumored to be playing Aquaman in the burgeoning DC cinematic universe, but he has denied those rumors for months. A new wave of reports that confirm his involvement in the film began to surface recently, but there’s still no official word from the studio.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to theaters May 6, 2016.
