While he still owes 20th Century Fox a feature film and he's got at least one more Amazing Spider-Man movie to direct, filmmaker Marc Webb is reportedly set to direct the musical comedy pilot Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for Showtime.

The half-hour comedy with musical elements "is built on the inspired comedy and songwriting of Rachel Bloom – who we believe, is ready to break out," according to network executives quoted by Variety. Bloom is a writer on Robot Chicken.

The series stars Bloom as a woman who gives up her partnership at a Manhattan law firm in an effort to find happiness in the Los Angeles suburb of West Covina. Brosh McKenna, who produced the upcoming adaptation of the long-running comic strip Annie, co-wrote the pilot with Bloom and will produce.
