Guardians Of The Galaxy: Behind The Scenes Photo Of Nebula Released

In his continuing series of "Guardians of the Galaxy picture of the day" releases, director James Gunn has posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Karen Gillan as Nebula to Instagram.

In the post, Gunn describes Gillan as "Clint Eastwood onscreen, Hello Kitty off." Nebula is a ruthless agent of Thanos in the film, but here is seen drinking water out of a bottle using a straw.

As an actress, Gillan is best known for playing companion Amy Pond in Season 5-7 of Doctor Who. She revealed her role as Nebula at last year's Comic-Con by removing a wig to show that she had shaved off her long, red hair. As Nebula, she'll have past history with Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana. In interviews, Gillan has teased that audiences should expect to see the two deadly women throw down in a big way at some point during the film.

Guardians of the Galaxy comes to theaters August 1.
