Extant Premiere: Re-Entry

The new sci-fi series Extant will premiere tonight on CBS.

In Extant, Astronaut Molly Woods tries to reconnect with her husband, John, and son, Ethan, after returning from a 13-month solo mission in outer space. Molly's mystifying experiences in space lead to events that will ultimately change the course of human history.

The series stars Halle Berry (Molly Woods), Goran Visnjic (John Woods), Pierce Gagnon (Ethan Woods), Hiroyuki Sanada (Hideki Yasumoto), Michael O'Neill (Alan Sparks), Grace Gummer (Julie Gelineau), and Camryn Manheim (Sam Barton).

Extant is a co-production of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and CBS Studios. The pilot episode, "Re-Entry," is written by series creator Mickey Fisher and directed by Allen Coulter (Boardwalk Empire).

The Extant premiere episode, "Re-Entry," will air Wednesday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
