The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) have released a new clip from Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, featuring Ray Liotta, Juno Temple and Josh Brolin.

Arguably the most interesting aspect of the clip isn't the story beat itself but Brolin's performance, which seems evocative of Clive Owen, who played the same character in the first Sin City film ten years ago.

You can check it out below, although being that it's Sin City, it's not particularly safe for work.

MTV have a second clip released today, this one featuring Temple's The Dark Knight Rises co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Johnny, a newly-created character for the film.

Here's how MTV describes the clip, which is a bit less self-explanatory than the first (but just as brutal):

One night in Basin City, Johnny beats the wrong man at poker, and as anyone who's seen a gambling movie knows, that means a beating is coming back his way. But Johnny's not going down without a fight.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For hits theaters on August 22, making it the third comic book adaptation in four weeks to hit theaters (following Guardians of the Galaxy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Both of the previous two have had big opening weekends and earned sequels.

Sin City isn't expected to open nearly that big, but after a ten-year break anything close to the $29 million the first movie opened with would be a win. Currently, projections are that the movie will open at around $20 million and make somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 million during its box office run. While likely enough to make it profitable, that would still place the film well short of the 2005 original.
