Telltale Games will debut Batman: The Telltale Series this summer according to Job J. Stauffer, Telltale Games' Head of Creative communications. Stauffer made the announcement via Twitter, along with the announcement that the third season of Telltale'sThe Walking Dead series will premiere in the fall.

The announcement also noted that the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is taking place in just one week, perhaps hinting that Telltale will reveal a new look or new details about the game during the event.

Telltale announced Batman: The Telltales Series at The Game Awards in December 2016. "At Telltale, we've been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we're excited to announce that we'll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year," said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games, during the announcement. "This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy."

At SXSW in March, Telltale revealed some new details about the game, saying it will use an art style similar to that of the Fables game The Wolf Among Us, which was compared to a moving comic book, but with significant upgrades. They also revealed that the game will feature appearances from DC Comics characters like Alfred Pennyworth, Renee Montoya, Vicki Vale, and Commissioner Jim Gordon.

Batman: The Telltale Series will be an episodic adventure game available for consoles, PC, Mac, and mobile devices.
