The CW has released a new teaser for Supergirl's move from CBS for Season 2.
The teaser trailer shows Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) taking off and leaving behind some rubble that forms the shape of The CW's logo. Take a look above.
Supergirl's first season aired on CBS, but will now make the jump to The CW and join fellow DC Comics-inspired series Arrow, The Flash, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. The Flash paid a visit Supergirl's Earth in a crossover episode of Supergirl in Season 1. This year, Supergirl will play a role in the annual Arrowverse crossover.
Supergirl Season 2 also brings Supergirl's cousin, Superman, into the mix. Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent, will be played by former Teen Wolf actor Tyler Hoechlin.
Supergirl Season 2 will also add Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, a National City Police Department officer dealing with metahuman crime, and Mon-El, an alien from the planet Daxam who gains powers similar to Kryptonians like Supergirl and Superman.
Supergirl is based on the DC character Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, who after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul Cat Grant. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency, enlists her to help protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats.
Supergirl Season 2 premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
