Jared Leto Gave Crazy Suicide Squad Gifts To This Grammy Award-Winner

When Jared Leto commits to a role, he goes all-out. Most recently, fans saw the actor immerse himself in all things DC Comics when he signed onto to play The Joker for Suicide Squad. The role is a dark one, of course, and it prompted Leto to borrow the Clown Prince’s twisted humor when he gifted his co-stars with some seriously crazy presents. And, apparently, the actor also gave a Grammy Award winning friend a sadistic gift as well.

Earlier this year, Leto teamed up with one of the world’s biggest DJs, Skrillex. The dubstep hotshot produced a track for the Suicide Squad soundtrack titled “Purple Lamborghini.” The song featured rapper Rick Ross, and its heavy bass-drops rocketed the track to the top of Billboard’s charts, and its music video even starred Leto as The Joker.

So, naturally, the actor presented Skrillex with a rather NSFW gift to commemorate their collaboration.

Skrillex spoke with Complex and told the site that Leto gave him the “biggest dildo” he’d ever seen and a “bunch of weird s**t in a box.” The DJ said he rolled with it, recalling that he, “was just like, ‘Thank you.’”

Skrillex’s reaction to the messed up gifts is no surprise. After all, the musician has previously revealed he and Leto are close friends, so Skrillex had to have some inkling of what his friend was capable of in-character.

The DJ also revealed Leto wasn’t originally supposed to star in his music video for “Purple Lamborghini.” As such, Skrillex called up the actor and personally asked him to be part of the shoot.

“[They] wanted to do a music video using me and footage [of Suicide Squad]. I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to do one of those.’ So I called Jared personally, and I really had to persuade him [to join],” Skrillex said.

“He’s a really good friend of mine, but for him, giving me that Joker character is not an easy thing. He really went out of his way to be a part of that video. And getting Rick Ross in it—the timing was so last minute. Everything came together at the last minute. The director, the treatment, everything.”

It feels good to be bad...Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Written and directed by Ayer based on the characters from DC Comics, the film also stars Jai Courtney (“Insurgent”), Jay Hernandez (“Takers”), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (“Thor: The Dark World”), Ike Barinholtz (“Neighbors”), Scott Eastwood (“Fury”), Cara Delevingne (“Paper Towns”), Adam Beach (“Cowboys & Aliens”), and Karen Fukuhara in her feature film debut. It is produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
