When The CW debuted The Flash a few years back, fans were introduced to a lovable guy named Eddie Thawne. The police detective acted as a member of Team Flash and was a close friend to Barry Allen despite being involved with Iris West. Known for his genuine charm and good nature, fans fell for Eddie, so they were heartbroken when actor Rick Cosnett left the show.

Now, the fan-favorite actor is talking about whether he'd come back to the show. According to Cosnett, he'd definitely make a comeback if he were promised a rather diabolical role.

Cosnett spoke with ComicBook.com recently and was asked by our own Chris Killian if he'd like the chance to play a version of Reverse-Flash on the hit drama. The actor seemed stoked to take on the nefarious role and told us he'd "absolutely" take on the character.

"I mean, there's nothing better than playing someone who's a little bit evil and who you've seen where he comes from." Cosnett said. "I think that's what was exciting about Eddie. We've seen him be so good, and when you see someone turn evil through jealousy…"

The actor continued, saying, "You know, we've all got this bad and evil side. Eddie really just chose to constantly be good. He always rose above everything, and he never really got jealous. He was such a good man in that sense. From that, to have someone so diabolically evil would be so exciting and so cool to be able to play."

After a brief pause, the actor also boasted that he had a knack for playing baddies. "I'm pretty good at psychopaths," Cosnett laughed. "It's one of my specialities. So, we'll see."

So far, fans are keeping their fingers crossed over the possibility of Cosnett returning to The Flash at all. He was last seen in Season Two's "Flash Back" after Barry Allen went on a short time-traveling excursion, but the reprisal wasn't enough for fans. Rumors have been milling about that the actor would come back to The Flash for its third season, but there's no official word on Cosnett's appearance.

However, he did hint that Eddie may soon stage his long-awaited comeback. The actor told ComicBook.com that the character would definitely return to The Flash, so fans can chew on that teaser for a bit.

If Eddie comes back as Reverse-Flash, he would become the fourth character to carry that moniker. Professor Eobard Thawne first held the mantle in Season One. The madman was determined to destroy Barry Allen and went so far as to try and kill the Flash as a child. However, his plans went awry and ultimately forced Eobard to steal the form of Dr. Harrison Wells to train Barry with his powers.

In Season Two, audiences met Hunter Zolomon who is better known by the name Zoom. The baddie came from Earth-2 and wanted to kill Barry in his quest to become the only speedster across the multiverse. And, in Season 3, fans briefly met a 'Flashpoint' iteration of Reverse-Flash called The Rival.
