To fans, Stephen Amell is best recognized for playing one of DC Comics' most famous heroes, Green Arrow. The actor plays the Star City vigilante in The CW's adaptation of Arrow. However, it seems like the actor is wanting to ditch his heroic roots and go dark side for a bit. The actor told fans at a recent comic convention that he'd be interested in playing a villain one day.

ComicBook.com's Brandon Davis had the chance to hear Amell speak in Atlanta at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, and it was there that the actor shared his nefarious dreams. "Having lived in the hero's shoes for a moment, I would say I'd like to play a...famous and memorable villain," he said, "in the vein of Hans Gruber or Hannibal Lector."

Clearly, the actor has thing for the baddies from Die Hard and Silence of the Lambs. The two villains are iconic antagonists in film, and Amell wants one of his characters to sit among them some day. Finding a classic villain to take on might be difficult, but fans know that the actor has the chops to take on such a role.

Of course, some may wonder whether Amell would be interested in playing a supervillain from either DC or Marvel. The actor has famously said his favorite baddie from Arrow is Deathstroke, so the actor might get a chance to ditch the Justice League and buddy up with former enemies.

For now, fans can rest assured knowing that Aemll has no plans to ditch his current job for a villainous one. The actor is happy with his work on Arrow, and Amell will get to show-off his acting skills in full when the network's annual superhero crossover heads underway. Next week will mark the beginning of the three-part crossover between The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.
