Suicide Squad's Jai Courtney Feels Like He's Not Done With Captain Boomerang

If you're an actor who gets tapped to play a character from DC Comics, you probably would want to hold onto the role for awhile. These days, fans recognize actors like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth for their superhero alter-egos, and it seems like one actor from Suicide Squad is eager to keep his bombastic character.
In a recent interview with We Got This Covered, Jai Courtney said he doesn't feel like he's done with Captain Boomerang just yet. "I certainly don't feel like I'm done with that character. I had a lot of fun playing him, and I don't feel like anyone is done with that franchise, certainly not yet."
The actor was also asked whether he felt Warner Bros. would pursue a Suicide Squad sequel, and Courtney delegated his answer. "Listen, they keep their cards very close to their chest. I actually have no idea, I pray the answer is yes," he explained.
"So, I hope so, sooner or later. The studio is very busy at the moment, director David Ayer is directing something else at the moment, but I'm sure they have plans, just none that they've shared with me."
Of course, this isn't the first time Courtney has talked about wanting to reprise the role of Captain Boomerang. Earlier this year, ComicBook.com had a chance to speak with the actor, and he signaled his interest then as well.
"It'd be dope to see [Captain Boomerang] in his natural habitat," he said, nodding to a possible sequel. "It'd be cool to see what he's capable of, give him a little more room to move, spread his wings a little. We did kind of introduce a feeling that he has these makeshift creations; he's like a garage cook of sorts with his weapons. We had this idea that his coat is sort of Mary Poppins's bag, he could pull anything out of there and we didn't have to justify how it fit or if he was ever going to run out. He's not the most equipped when it comes to powers, but it'd be cool to play in that space."
