It was just announced that David Ayer would be returning to the DCEU to helm the anticipated villainess team-up film, Gotham City Sirens.
The Sirens are a team from DC comics consisting of Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. The group was a frequent foe of the Bat-family, and is easliy one of the most entertaining teams in DC.
As WB is looking to piggy-back on the earnings of Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn will star as the team's leader. Other than Quinn, no other character for the film has been cast.
We decided to break things down, and give you a look at who we think would make Gotham City Sirens the film it has the potential to be. Ben Affleck has already been cast as Batman, and Robbie is returning to Harley, but there are still five key roles in the Sirens story left to fill.
Take a look, and see if you agree with our picks for the Gotham City Sirens!
Catwoman - Paula Patton
While Catwoman may be vital to the Sirens movie, she will be even more important to the character of Batman throughout the rest of the DCEU. For this reason, you've got to cast someone who will work well with Ben Affleck, not just Margot Robbie.
Paula Patton would be incredible opposite BatFleck, and she's proven she can become an extremely alluring love interest to an actor like Affleck. In past projects, Patton has had incredible chemistry with stars like Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, and Tom Cruise.
With the action-packed resume and smooth delivery of Paula Patton, it would be impossible for Catwoman to go wrong.
Holly Robinson - Zoe Kravitz
Many fans may not know Holly Robinson, but she plays a vital part in the story of the Sirens.
The character is a young girl who's lost her way, and Catwoman takes her under her wing. Through the tuteledge of Selina Kyle, Holly ends up becoming a total bad-ass. She even dons the Catwoman mantle later on.
When looking for a "young bad-ass", there's never a reason to glance past Zoe Kravitz. The woman has turned into a star over the last few years with pivotal roles in X-Men: First Class, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Divergent.
Zoe Kravitz would be a great partner to Paula Patton, and the DCEU would gladly welcome her talents.
Poison Ivy - Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood has absolutely crushed the game as the star of HBO's hit series, Westworld. Seriously, her display on the show proves that her acting talents know no bounds.
Taking the aggression, manipulation, and heartbreak surrounding the character of Dolores, Wood could pack a punch with a turn as Poison Ivy.
The woman is a master of heartbreak, and Wood has shown that she can move your emotions with the best of ease.
Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are known for their on-again-off-again relationship status, and the combination of Margot Robbie and Evan Rachel Wood would provide some awesome on-screen chemistry.
Batgirl - Zoey Deutch
Batman utilizes the talents of his protege Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, when going toe-to-toe with the Sirens. Plus, the addition of the character helps to keep the story female-centric - as it should be.
Zoey Deutch has become a rising star as of late, and the combination of honest charm and unrelenting wit make her a perfect fit for Barbara Gordon. Her role in Everybody Wants Some!! alone is more than enough to prove she's capable of doing the character justice.
There's plenty of names mentioned when Batgirl is brought up, buy Zoey Deutch can far surpass the others.
Dick Grayson - Steven Yeun
It's hard to have a Gotham-centered story without Dick Grayson involved. If you aren't going to have Batman be a major player in the Sirens movie, his former sidekick at least needs to have a role.
Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing, needs to possess superior skills in hand-to-hand combat, and contain a desperate need to always do what's right - no matter the situation.
With six seasons of Glenn under his belt, Steven Yeun has been perfectly prepared to take on Nightwing. He's got the right look, he's the right age, and his lovable personality just screams, "Dick Grayson!"
