Justice League Director Describes Team's Complicated Group Dynamic

Although Justice League's release is still many months away, fans are eagerly anticipating the expansion to the DC Extended Universe that the film will bring. Perhaps one of the biggest elements of anticipation is simply seeing the core members of the iconic team - Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and Flash - come together.
This is something that the film's director, Zack Snyder, says that he is very aware of. According to a recent interview with Total Film, seeing the team truly unite was one of his highlights while making the film.
"One of the more rewarding aspects of creating Justice League was having fun exploring the dynamic between this diverse group of larger-than-life characters with disparate backgrounds, ethics, and unique perspectives all trying to come together and work as a team."
This dynamic was a core theme throughout the film's first trailer, with Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck), reaching a bit of a road block while trying to get Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) to join the team. Parts of the characters' origins were peppered throughout the trailer - such as the industrial headquarters belonging to Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller), as well as Victor Stone/Cyborg's (Ray Fisher) letter jacket.
While these six Justice League members all have appeared - through cameo or otherwise - in Batman vs. Superman, having the characters meet face to face has apparently proved to be a unique task. According to Snyder, this was greatly influenced by the offscreen dynamics between the cast members.
"[Their dynamic] not only offers an opportunity for great drama and complex relationships, but it also often results in great fun. It's an exciting concept to explore and it only gets better when you add the component of our incredibly talented cast – their chemistry really adds to that dynamic."
Since their initial casting, the cast has appeared to bond pretty significantly, if social media is any indication. Fisher, Miller, and Momoa in particular appear to have become close friends before they even shared the screen together. And the cast as a whole seems to have bonded well, briefly appearing together at last year's San Diego Comic Con is any indication, and being seen on set doing everything from playing music together to recording public service announcements.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciarán Hinds, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg.
Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
