Gal Gadot Explains Why Wonder Woman Is Needed Now More Than Ever

With Wonder Woman set to make a splash on the big screen in just a few weeks, Warner Bros. and DC are ramping up the promotion of the film.
Ever since Gal Gadot was cast as the Princess of the Amazons she's expressed gratitude for the opportunity while living up to the challenges of playing such an iconic character.
And with Wonder Woman's imminent debut in theaters, the actor spoke about working on the film and her relationship with director Patty Jenkins when she revealed why the character is so important in today's cultural climate.
"I think that everything Wonder Woman stands for is brilliant," Gadot said. "She stands for justice and peace and wisdom and love and acceptance and compassion. And all of these things are rare, they're becoming rare in our world."
While Gadot initially debuted as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman was a supporting character in that film. She was not explored with the same depth as her counterparts in the DC Comics Trinity, and that's to be expected because the movie was not about her.

But now that she is getting the much-deserved focus, it's wonderful to see that her representation of the character lines up with the most iconic traits from her greatest comic book stories.
