Fans are excited to finally learn all about Diana in the upcoming Wonder Woman solo film, who is a much different person than the one fans met in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Director Patty Jenkins is aware of the chasm between the two, and this movie will start the journey towards Diana learning how to interact with mankind on a larger scale (via ScreenRant), and whether or not she could ever completely turn away from it.
"Well, I think that I can only tell the origin story of who she is. I think that there is potentially a misunderstanding between what it means to turn her back on mankind… there could be a difference between having people save themselves and knowing that people must save themselves, and even still, being optimistic and loving about them. I think that they were sort of more [synched] up, but we were aware that her snippet [in Batman V Superman] versus the story that unfolded, you know… there is a journey of time between."
Hopefully, that time gap will be addressed in the unconfirmed sequel, and what exactly causes her to leave the limelight. It takes a huge threat in BvS to get her to put on the costume again, though she seems committed to protecting humanity in the public eye once gain by film's end.
