After the immense success of the summer’s biggest hit at the box office, it pretty much went without saying that a sequel to Wonder Woman was inevitable.
If you were disappointed they didn’t announce it at San Diego Comic-Con, worry not because Warner Bros. just revealed the official release date for Wonder Woman 2.
Gal Gadot will reprise her role for the movie, expected to hit theaters December 13, 2019. Patty Jenkins is still in negotiations to direct the role, but we’re guessing at this point Warner Bros. is having difficulty locating a wheelbarrow large enough to contain all of the money she’ll be getting.
Given how well the movie has performed in theaters and the positive reception it received from both fans and critics, it’s kind of a no brainer that the Wonder Woman 2 announcement would send the internet into a frenzy. And like clockwork, the .gif party began as soon as the word hit.
Here are some of the best responses people on the internet have had to the announcement of Wonder Woman 2’s 2019 release date.
