The CW has released a scene from 'Damaged', the upcoming fifth episode of Supergirl's third season.

The scene opens with Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) and James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) talking about CatCo's print magazine. Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) walks in with something to say, but is quickly distracted by Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar) on TV.

The news report shows Edge at the Luthor Childrens Hospital, talking about the lead bomb that drew away the Daxamite attacks months before. He argues that the bomb caused children to develop lead poisoning, and accuses Lena of building the bomb.

This episode further establishes Edge's maniacal nature against Team Supergirl, since he appeared in the season three premiere. In the comics, he has a pretty complicated DC Comics history, one that will manifest in interesting ways as a sort of foil to Lena.

"What's great about Morgan Edge is he's the more atypical almost Luthor of the story." McGrath explained in an interview earlier this year. "He's come in as the big wealthy villain bad guy who doesn't care. He is what you would expect Lena to be, but Lena is not that. She's the righteous, for the little people. What Morgan does as a dynamic for the show and for Lena is to show how far she is from being that yet, and how much it's going to take to get her there, because when you see them in scenes together, they're so like cats and dogs, polar opposites and she will do anything to get in his way and he will do anything to destroy her."

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8/7c on The CW.
