Gal Gadot Celebrates Four Year Anniversary Wonder Woman Casting Announcement

Gal Gadot is an international superstar thanks to Wonder Woman, but four years ago, it was a very different story. The actress was only really known for her work in the Fast and the Furious franchise, and there were a lot of fans who did not embrace her in the role, early on. Gadot faced everything from acting criticism to vile body-shaming, but never let it stop her from creating the version of Wonder Woman that she and director Patty Jenkins wanted.

After seeing the response to Wonder Woman both critically and financially, and the character's new prominence in both pop-culture and the DCEU brand, it's safe to say that Gadot has had the last laugh at her early haters. As of now, Wonder Woman 2 is the best hope the DC Films Universe has, going forward, with production set for next year.

Justice League is now in theaters; Aquaman arrives on December 21, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Wonder Woman 2 on November 1st, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020.
