'Black Lightning' Family Fights Back Trailer Released

Not only is Black Lightning going to fight to keep his city safe, but Jefferson Pierce is going to do all he can to keep his family together.

In the newest trailer for The CW's Black Lightning, based on the DC Comics hero, Jefferson Pierce is a man on a mission. In the midst of chaos, Jefferson must figure out how to balance his life as the Black Lightning, with his family that he tries so desperately to hold together.

Premiering on January 16 at 9pm ET, Black Lightning tells the story of Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams), a man who is wrestling with a secret.

Nine years ago, Pierce was gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, which he uses to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante, Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life and family on the line, he left his super hero days behing.

Now, a decade later, crime and corruption are spreading like wildfire, and Black Lightning must return to save not only his family, but the soul of his very community.

Black Lightning also stars Nafessa Williams, China Ann McClain, Christine Adams, James Remar, Damon Gupton and Marvin Jones III.
