The Flash Midseason Finale Clip: Barry Asks Julian About Savitar

Tonight, The Flash will return to The CW for its thrilling midseason finale. The series will see the Flash and Savitar come to a head after a long game of cat-and-mouse. To get fans excited for the episode, The CW is teasing fans with an upcoming confrontation between Julian and Barry in "The Present."

Clearly, it is a rather tense encounter.

The footage shows Barry Allen questioning Julian about his knowledge of the powerful Philosopher's Stone. It is then that the lab tech tells the secret speedster about his former obsession with the stone.

"It is said to be the first object give human beings powers. Over the years, it got lost. I became quite obsessed with trying to find it, did every piece of available research I could. Much to my parent's dismay, I used my future inheritance and funded an expedition to try and find it, but we never found it," he explains.

However, Julian becomes noticeably perturbed when Barry asks him about Savitar. The former asks how Barry learned the name and then subtly warns his enemy to not waste his time with the figure.

By the clip's end, Barry leaves the CSI lab looking more than a little suspicious, and he has ever right to be. Fans know that Julian is actually Dr. Alchemy on The Flash, and the network's teaser ends with him being called by Savitar.

BARRY SEEKS HELP FROM JAY GARRICK — With Alchemy and Savitar still looming threats, Barry (Grant Gustin) is unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris (Candice Patton). Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp). Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to help Barry fight Savitar and reveals that he's been training with H.R. (Tom Cavanagh), which doesn't go over well with Barry. As Cisco (Carlos Valdes) faces his first Christmas without his brother Dante (guest star Nicholas Gonzalez), old wounds are reopened.

The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. "The Present" will debut on December 6, 2016.
