During our chat with DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns this weekend on the red carpet for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, I couldn't help myself: I had to ask him about the future of Booster Gold.

When Johns asked whether I was talking about movies, TV, or comics, told him to respond to whichever one he could give us a real answer...and here's what he had to say:

"You'll see [Booster Gold] very soon, and there's talks about…there's actually a lot of plans for Booster Gold, one of my favorite characters. But yeah, Booster Gold fans, you will definitely be happy with what we've got coming up in the years ahead."

We'll be sharing our Johns interview, and plenty more from Radio City Music Hall's premiere event, throughout the week.

What format could he be talking about? Well, we're going to go ahead and assume that he'll be showing up first in the comics, with that "there are talks..." hesitation being about TV or film.

Booster Gold ran for 49 issues -- the first 12 co-written by Johns -- before being cancelled ahead of DC's 2011 New 52 reboot. The character has reappeared a few times since, but as often as not he's been more teased than actually seen. With a much-hyped guest appearance in All-Star Western leading into a Convergence miniseries, Booster then vanished again once Convergence was finished.

Meanwhile, in the last few years he's had a TV pilot fall through at Syfy from Supergirl and The Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, and now there are rumors that he could have his own movie from director Greg Berlanti, who works with Kreisberg on those and other DC series. And his likeness appeared in the teaser video Johns recorded for DC's upcoming Rebirth event.

Deidrich Bader, who played Batman in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, will voice Booster Gold in the upcoming animated series Justice League Action.
