Spoilers ahead for Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #1, on sale tomorrow
The final page of tomorrow's Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #1 features a shocking page-turn reveal...that is a lot less shocking if you've been closely following news around the series.
For instance, if you read last week's much-hyped "prelude" issue of Suicide Squad, which featured a massive fold-out poster that gave away the villains behind the upcoming, weekly event miniseries.
There are other elements that have already been spoiled by upcoming solicitations: Steve Orlando's Justice League of America will see Batman leading a team into battle that includes two members currently part of the Suicide Squad.
Writer Joshua Williamson admitted to ComicBook.com that it would have been nice for readers to turn that last page un-spoiled, but it wasn't realistic -- and even knowing who the big bad is and the names of the villains whose strings he is pulling, doesn't mean audiences know as much as they might think they do.
"That was definitely a challenge. I think when we first started writing it, we knew certain things were going to get spoiled. It is a bummer, but you also realize that can build excitement toward the event," Williamson told ComicBook.com. "Just because you know who the characters are, you don't necessarily know their motivations. You don't necessarily know why they're there and what they're doing, and that was kind of the thing that made it okay to reveal who the characters are. As you go on, you'll see it's not just about the characters who are in the book; it's how they interact with each other and what they're doing."

Beyond the bigger picture, he said, sometimes spoilers can actually drive audiences to want the book more.
"If I wasn't writing this, if I was just on the outside looking in, the moment I heard 'Max Lord,' I would have been like, 'I'm listening. You have my attention,'" Williamson said.
