Monument Valley 2 Announced, Available Now For iOS Devices

Today's WWDC presentation didn't exactly hold a treasure trove of new gaming information from the world of Apple, but there was one particular nugget that mobile fans can get excited about – a return to Monument Valley.

The team over at ustwo Games confirmed during the press conference today that the long-awaited sequel to its mobile hit has not only been announced, but is available for play starting today on iOS devices.

Monument Valley 2, selling for $4.99 on the App Store, follows a mother and her child as they embark on a journey through magical architecture, discovering illusionary pathways and delightful puzzles as you learn the secrets of the Sacred Geometry, according to the game's official description.

The original Monument Valley was given Apple's Game of the Year award back in 2014, so there's no doubt that some players will definitely want to check this out.

We've included a gallery of screenshots below that show you the kind of tranquil beauty that ustwo Games has put into Monument Valley 2's visual design, and it is really stunning as far as mobile games go. Plus, the puzzles still can't be beat, requiring you to really use your noggin when it comes to solving them.

If you're a fan of the original game, this is obviously a must-have. No other platforms have been announced yet, since ustwo Games likely released the title as an iOS exclusive for the time being. But if you have an iPhone or iPad around -- and you couldn't get enough of the first game, again -- this is a must-have.
