Dauntless Announces Founder's Alpha in August, Monster Hunter Fans Take Notice

In case you've been living in a cave, Phoenix Labs is developing a beautiful new, Monster Hunter inspired, co-op action RPG called Dauntless. Get a taste in the trailer above. We've been following the game for some time, and even got to go hands-on at PAX East. If you love Monster Hunter, you're going to love the ways Dauntless refreshes the prepare -> hunt -> slay -> upgrade formula.

And you're going to get that chance sooner than later. Phoenix Labs announced today that the Dauntless founder's alpha will launch in August. "We're proud to announce that the Founder's Alpha will launch on August 18th. Slayers who have purchased Founder-tier packs will be able to explore the Shattered Isles in this first publicly available version of Dauntless."

But that's not all. As soon as the Founder's Alpha kicks off we're going to be treated to a torrent of new content. Phoenix Labs is confident in its game, and it knows that the more people see it in action, the more they'll want to play. That's all it took for us, anyway. They continued in their announcement:

"Furthermore, we're excited to also announce that starting August 18th we will be lifting the NDA for new content, allowing anyone in the Founder's Alpha to stream and capture content during the Founder's Alpha. This means we're looking forward to seeing what you'll make Twitch, YouTube, and everywhere else you create and share."

To make sure Dauntless reaches as many people as possible Phoenix Labs is reaching out to content creators everywhere. This is your chance to play the game before anyone else and get a huge head start.
"We have heard from so many passionate creators and artists who want to share their amazing work with the Dauntless community. This is an opportunity for Slayers across Twitch, YouTube, and other platforms to become part of the Dauntless family.
