The one question that fans everywhere were asking as soon as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was revealed was, "Where's Nate?" If Nathan Drake is gone, can we truly call it an Uncharted game, and after The Lost Legacy comes and goes, is that going to be the end of the series. After all, what's a God of War without Kratos, or a Metal Gear Solid without Solid Snake? According to Naughty Dog, this isn't an issue at all.

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, The Lost Legacy creative director Shaun Escayg reveals that the team has no plans to call it quits on Uncharted, especially with so many characters left unexplored. When asked if the series could continue on without Nathan Drake, and whether The Lost Legacy represented an end to these characters' stories, Escayg responded:

"I wouldn't say it's the end. This thieving world is huge. There's so many characters. Even before we settled on this particular story we were exploring Sullivan, we were exploring Cutter, and pairing each other up, thinking what would be right, what would have conflict, growth, something new, something fresh. And Chloe was the one that kept jumping out.

"But to say the Uncharted world is done... I doubt that highly."

This is a project that the entire team is taking very seriously. And when we say the entire team, we mean it. Escayg also revealed during the interview that so much of Naughty Dog's staff is focused on bringing this game out sooner than later, that The Last of Us Part II is taking a bit of a back seat for now.

"Right now, the studio's focus is Lost Legacy," he said. "We have a truly ambitious schedule. The Last of Us [project] is working but at a lot slower pace right now. The entire team is on Lost Legacy - that's a couple hundred of us strong."

It sounds like we can expect a lot from The Lost Legacy, and even more after it's released. As for those additional characters, we expect a deeper dive into Sully's character in the upcoming Uncharted movie. More on that here.
