NeoGeo: A Visual History Premium Editions Revealed

Bitmap Books makes gorgeous, high quality, collector's caliber books detailing the visual history of our most beloved video game systems. Today we get our first look at the multiple editions of its latest project: "NEOGEO: A Visual History."

There will be three editions of this gorgeous new book, which will feature the most beautiful pixel art the world has ever seen. The NeoGeo existed in a time when pixel art and animation had reached its apex, and we haven't seen anything to rival the likes of Metal Gear and SNK's fighting games since then.

The collector's edition will come with a color slipcase, set of art prints, enamel pin badge, bumper stickers, and the book itself. The mega edition will get you a golden slipcase, art prints, the badge, the bumper stickers, a "memory card boy" t-shirt, and a letter of authentication to go along with your fancy new book. Here's a little more about the book itself:

"We've been working closely with SNK CORPORATION ("SNK") over the last few months to bring you NEOGEO: a visual history. This lavishly illustrated volume will be the first official NEOGEO art book of its kind released in the English language.

A visual celebration of all things NEOGEO, the book is full of concept artwork, game graphics, photography, box art and promotional material straight from the SNK archives.

We've been working with renowned collectors Frazer Rhodes, Massimiliano Macri and Brian Hargrove, who between them have pretty much everything released for the NEOGEO, including complete game collections and rare items. These will be professionally photographed and included in the book.

"NEOGEO: a visual history" also features official interviews with key staff integral to the NEOGEO's history, including producer Yasuyuki Oda, artist Tatsuhiko Kanaoka (Falcoon) and composer Hideki Asanaka (Sha-V).

"NEOGEO: a visual history" comes as an A4 hardback and is available in both standard edition and a limited edition collector's edition, presented in a metallic gold slipcase.
