Smosh Games has been doing a great job with its Honest Trailers – and its side spin-off channel Honest Game Trailers – but it kind of hit a nerve last week when a new video made fun of the returning Crash Bandicoot and his N. Sane Trilogy, instead of giving him the proper appreciation he deserved. But, hey, they kind of made up for it this week with a new Honest Trailer, this time focusing on Castlevania.

Before you say, "Well, that's out of the blue!", it's really not, as a new Castlevania animated series will be making its debut on Netflix on July 7th – and, of course, we'll be glued to our streaming devices for that one. But, for now, the team at Smosh has taken a look back at the games, including obscure favorites like Kid Dracula and the "3D games," which didn't fare quite as well as you could possibly imagine.

"From the developer that gave you some of history's most iconic game series – and then threw it all away to make pachinko machines, health clubs and, ugh, soccer games," it started, then making a statement about what it was like to find "wall meat" in an unlikely place.

The team also makes note of how you face the same antagonist in the same location – his castle – and how you get to kill him off…"until he resurrects again in ten minutes."

It also covers the spectrum of characters in the series, like the "tiny shorts" Belmont family, that "one sword lady" (because every series obviously needs one, you know) and more.

And you face some familiar enemies in the game, including "one million Madusa heads". Yep, that's exactly what it feels like, so we totally relate to that.

But Dracula still has two advantages over other iconic villains – "incredibly good music" and "lots and lots of candle whipping. Yeahhhhhh!"

It's a pretty good view, and reminds you of the 40+ (!) games in the series that are available. So definitely give the trailer, which can be seen above, a watch, and then prep for the anime TV show when it premieres later this week!
