We're still waiting a bit for Insomniac Games' Spider-Man to arrive on PlayStation 4 (it isn't due until next year), but that hasn't stopped some creative YouTubers from comparing footage for the upcoming game with another recent release in the Spider-Man lexicon.

A YouTuber by the name of Cycu1 has posted a video, which you can see above, that compared Spider-Man with the previously released The Amazing Spider-Man 2, produced by Activision and based on the film of the same name, which was released back in 2014. Obviously, Spider-Man on PS4 is going to look a little bit better, but it's kind of interesting how the comparisons between the two are a bit closer than some folks may realize.

First off, Insomniac's web-swinging, which has seen a bit of improvement since its E3 presentation last month, looks to be just as natural – if not a slight bit better – than the web-swinging provided in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There also appears to be a segment where you can attempt to stop bank robbers that are on the run in both games, although Amazing Spider-Man 2 has a bit more interactiveness when it comes to button presses, at least based on the prompts.

Spider-Man's abilities look to be quite even across both games as well, including web spins, running up (and along) the sides of buildings, and maneuvering through the city with ease. Both characters also seem to have a knack with landing from a web swing with flair.

That said, Spider-Man on PS4 appears to have a better look than the older model, based more around the appearance of the new character in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but with a bit of white thrown into his outfit to make the spider emblem stand out. Amazing Spider-Man 2, meanwhile, has a more basic appearance.

Combat appears to be the same with both games as well, with a free-flowing system that makes it easy to attack multiple enemies that are coming at you at once. However, Insomniac's game has a better notification of what enemies you can attack and what items you can use within it, while Amazing Spider-Man 2 has more obviously prompts when it comes to which enemies to avoid and counter. Spider-Man for PS4 looks to have a lot more to offer.

You can check out the video above. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is available now for Wii U, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4; and Spider-Man will release on PlayStation 4 next year.
