Brawlhalla has taken the fighting game community by storm, and has become the most-played fighting game on Steam in 2016 and 2017. This free-to-play, Smash-like, weapon-based brawler has attracted more than 5.3 million players who form one of the most passionate communities in gaming. If you have a friend who plays Brawlhalla, then you've probably already heard all about it. If you're not a PC gamer, take heart! Brawlhalla founders packs land on PS4 on August 1, giving you instant access to the early beta, and PS4 players will join the enormous community of PC players for cross-platform competition. Check out the trailer above to see what you've been missing.

So here's the deal. Brawlhalla is already in closed beta on the PS4, but right now you just have to sign up here and hope that you receive an invitation to play. The game will eventually be free to play, but for now PS4 gamers have to play the waiting game. If you're willing to dish out $19.99, you can start playing this addictive brawler right away (starting August 1), and you'll get access to a smattering of bonuses including:

  • Immediate beta access
  • The All Legends Pack - Includes every available and all future playable-characters including the thief, the newest addition, revealed today

  • A Founder's exclusive avatar

  • A Founder's exclusive nameplate

  • A Founder's exclusive spawn bot – The sleek, new Personal Sentry IV

"A variety of online and offline modes offer something for every Legend looking to prove their might in Asgard. Ranked queues, local 1v1 and 2v2, a four-player online free-for-all and online or local free-for-all allow up to eight warriors to take the field at once. Alternate game modes Brawlball, Snowbrawl, Bombsketball and more let the heroes sharpen their skills in new ways.

"With a roster of more than 30 Legends, each with distinct two-weapon combinations and fighting styles, every aspiring warrior can find a hero that suits their playstyle."

I saw how exciting this game can be first-hand when I witnessed crowds of fans and dedicated players swarming Blue Mammoth's station at PAX East for a chance to show off their skill. For anyone who has been craving a wild and wonderful game to fill the Smash Bros. void, Brawlhalla is the answer to your prayers. Check it out!
