Persona 5's Joker Joins The Figma Series

Hot on the heels of the announcement that the popular Japanese RPG Persona 5 is getting its own anime in 2018, Good Smile Company has unveiled their Figma figure based on the game's protagonist.

From the super-popular RPG game, Persona 5, comes this Persona 5 Joker Figma Action Figure, featuring the main character in his Phantom Thief outfit! Although he appears to be a quiet and powerless member of society, he is in reality a strong-willed juvenile delinquent known as the Phantom. This super-detailed Figma action figure has points of articulation so you can act all your favorite scenes. Flexible plastic allows for possibility without distorting proportions, making this a truly faithful representation of his in-game appearance. He comes with three face plates, including an expressionless face, a smiling face, and a suspicious grinning face. His optional parts include a gun, a knife, and an alternate front hair part to pose him with his mask.

Naturally, his cat-but-not-a-cat partner Morgana is included - though he isn't articulated.

Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled high school students - the protagonist and a collection of compatriots he meets in the game's story - who live dual lives as Phantom Thieves. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high schooler: attending class, after-school activities, and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the "self"; the game's heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective mask and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and using it to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern society wears.
