As it turns out, taking on Moltres in Pokemon Go doesn't require as many people as once thought.

We reported yesterday that Moltres was a much easier Raid Boss than Articuno in Pokemon Go. While the consensus is that 4-5 experienced players can beat a Moltres pretty easily, some players theorized that a group as small as two players could beat it on their own. Earlier today, a Japanese player named "boushinshi" posted a video on YouTube that allegedly shows them and a partner wiping out Moltres on their own.

Both players went in with a team of all Golem, although notably it doesn't appear that the Golem were entirely leveled up, or even had the ideal Stone Edge moveset. One key to boushinshi's success was quitting the raid before their last Pokemon fainted and re-entering with a full team of healthy Golem and Tyranitar. Boushinshi also didn't have to manually select a second team, likely because all of his Chansey, Wobbuffet, and other less ideal Pokemon were fainted in advance.

Still, boushinshi and their partner didn't have much room for error. The two trainers defeated Moltres with just five seconds left on the clock, which means that players will basically need a perfect run to defeat Moltres with a small raid team.

One of the reasons why Moltres is so easy to beat is that it often uses a relatively weak charge move. While Overheat and Fire Blast are both deadly attacks, Moltres's Heat Wave can't knock out Golem, Rhydon, and several other Pokemon in one attack. We'll see if someone can replicate this feat later this week.
