Rainbow Six Siege continues to grow, because Ubisoft continues to pour into its health and development. Siege is by far one of the best and most thrilling first-person shooters I've ever played, and it seems like I wasn't the only one who went on a massive tour as an evangelist for the game. A bunch of you have been spreading the gospel, and today Ubisoft is celebrating a pretty huge milestone in Siege's life:

"On behalf of the entire Rainbow 6 Dev Team, thank you! 20 Million strong." Of course if you click on the actual tweet you'll see that the majority of responses are from people complaining about one thing or another, but that's the internet for you, right?

In fact, the majority of people who are complaining right now are upset over server outages yesterday. Those outages were due to some tweaks Ubi was making as part of its newly announced health plan for the game. Ubisoft has initiated "Operation Health," a long series of game updates that will roll out over a period of months (what would typically be a 'season' of content) to improve the game in all of its technical aspects. Everything from matchmaking features, to server maintenance, to bug squashing, to balancing changes... It's all in the name of making Siege the best it can possibly be, and guys, it was already damn great.

Of course, people are whining about the pushing back of the latest season of content as well. From Ubisoft's update: "With Operation Health pushing back our season set in Hong Kong, we needed to rethink our Year 2 Roadmap. Hong Kong will be released in August as part of Season Three and South Korea in November during Season Four. While Poland no longer has a dedicated season, our GROM Operators will be released at the start of Season Three and Four."

Don't let any of that kill your buzz. Matchmaking in Rainbow Six Siege has already seen vast improvements, and the difference between now and the game at launch is literally night and day. If you've been getting bored with your gaming routine and have been looking for something fresh and exciting to play, I can say with confidence that Rainbow Six Siege is the white-knuckle thrill you've been waiting for. Try it and see for yourself.
