Halo

With Paris set to get the Summer Olympics in about seven years, the organizers are looking to take advantage of the best activities available – and that includes esports.

Speaking with ABC News, Paris Olympic bid committee co-president Tony Estanguet noted that he intends to talk about esports with the other reps, including the International Olympic Committee.

"We have to look at it because we can't say, 'It's not us. It's not about Olympics,'" Estanguet said. "The youth, yes they are interested in esport and this kind of thing. Let's look at it. Let's meet them. Let's try if we can find some bridges."

Now the real question is what kind of games would fit with the Paris Olympics. There's a good chance that Rocket League could be considered, mainly because it's a sports game at heart to begin with (even with cars). But there's also a possibility that the Committee might consider other games like League of Legends, Halo 5: Guardians and maybe even fighting games such as Street Fighter V. It all depends what the Committee believes will be hits at the time. After all, we're talking 2024 here – so it'll be a while.

We'll let you know how the process goes over the next few years!
