Bandai Namco has been releasing a steady stream of content for those interested in the upcoming horror/anime RPG Code Vein. With the stunning character customisation, and the enrapturing conflict among vampires, the latest role-playing game has got a lot of positive attention surrounding the upcoming release. In the age of multiplayer glory, The Code Vein team did mention recently that they are looking at the possibility of multiplayer for the new title.

During a recent interview, the Code Vein producer spilled a few goals that they have in mind in addition to its fleshed out narrative. Though it's still too early for any definitive announcements, producer Keita Iizuka and director Hiroshi Yoshimura did reveal to fans that they are seriously considering multiplayer support in the future, though they were very clear that any more details could not be unveiled at this time:

"We are now thinking of the multiplayer support. But we cannot tell about details on this part. However, we really focus on the buddy system in this game, so with this idea we are negotiating and discussing with the development team to install a multiplayer support system."

Multiplayer continues to be on the rise, becoming more and more of a key focus for developers of all genres. Though sometimes it can be forced, with the way the fighting mechanics are set up in Code Vein - it could actually work. The anime-style horror game has often been compared to that of Dark Souls, and the ability to play co-op or even a PvP style could be an incredibly intriguing addition to a solid campaign.

As far as the single-player story goes, this is the game's official synopsis:

"In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity's past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood. Give into the bloodlust fully and risk becoming one of the Lost, fiendish ghouls devoid of any remaining humanity. Wandering aimlessly in search of blood, the Lost will stop at nothing to satisfy their hunger. Team up and embark on a journey to the ends of hell to unlock your past and escape your living nightmare in Code Vein."

Code Vein is set to release early 2018 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
