The new game for the Planet of the Apes franchise keeps looking better each time we see it, and though it plays out more as an interactive movie than a full-blown action game, it's still fascinatingly close in tone to the movie trilogy, especially when it comes to making crucial decisions for both the apes and the humans.

In the latest trailer for Last Frontier, we get a close look at one of the newer characters in the game, an ape named Clarence. He serves as a close ally to Khan, the leader of the apes, who attempted to make a getaway from a human ambush, only for his wife to be slaughtered in the process.

With that, Khan asks his confidant what choice should be made – should he avenge the death of his wife, or should he continue to lead his apes on a path of peace?

Here's the full overview of the clip, straight from the developers at Imaginati Studios and FoxNext Games:

"Meet Clarence, confidant to Khan. After fleeing battle and his wife being killed by a soldier, Khan needs guidance. What should Clarence tell the apes to do: Go Back For Revenge or Leave And Seek Peace? How Will You Lead?"

And that's a big question, since your decisions will have consequences either way. For instance, seeking revenge against the humans may seem like a noble thing to do, but you run the risk of getting more apes killed as a result. On the flip side, seeking peace is a viable option, but apes may lose confidence in you, and there's a good chance that the humans could get a leg up in their war by taking out more crucial figures.

Last Frontier promises to be a "narrative adventure game of conquest, betrayal and survival," where you'll have to make "morally and ethically challenging choices" for both sides. It'll be interesting to see where things end up, especially with multiple endings in the game.

Check out the trailer above, and prepare for Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier when it arrives later this year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
