Crytek's futurist shooting game Warface is looking to get down on its own fair share of Battle Royale action. The genre has seen an insane rise in popularity with titles such as PlayerUnknown's Battleground and Fortnite's mode, and it looks like Warface doesn't want to be left out in the dust. The best part about it though, is that Warface is completely free to play!

For a little backstory on the game for those unaware:

"Hit the front line in Warface – a free-to-play first person shooter that offers new multiplayer missions every day.

In Co-op mode, play the part of a Rifleman, Sniper, Engineer or Medic, and master the unique skills of each class to help your team to victory. Daily new missions mean you'll always have a fresh challenge to face and new rewards to unlock – regardless of whether you tackle Regular, Skilled or Hardcore campaigns.

Versus matches see teams of up to eight players battling it out in stacks of competitive modes. Jump into "Team Deathmatch", "Free for All", "Plant the Bomb", "Storm", "Destruction" or "Capture", and switch your soldier class at any moment to maximize your contribution to the cause."

In addition to the already there features, the game's addition of the PUBG-like mode is sure to be exciting for those that love the additional pressure. The team over at Crytek even boast that it will be the largest map to ever be featured, making the huge desert even more daunting. The biggest difference about Warface's version is that it won't be a 100 player free for all, instead only pitting a group of 16 against each other to beat that increasing ring of death.

The new battle royale game mode will be going live during the next update for only a limited amount of time. Some of the features include:

  • The game mode takes after the most classic scenario: each man for himself.
  • Dynamic engagement, that always keeps you on the move — linger a minute too long and you'll be caught outside the shield and left for dead.
  • An enormous new map with plenty of areas to explore. No round will ever feel the same — you never know where you're headed until the "Zone" hits.
  • Plenty of achievements to unlock!
