The release of The Inpatient was almost here for PlayStation VR owners, but they'll have to wait a bit longer now that the game's release date has been delayed alongside another VR game.

PlayStation confirmed that both The Inpatient and Bravo Team would be moved back to early 2018, the latter of which will be coming a couple of months in towards the end of the timeframe. A tweet from the PlayStation Twitter account announced the new release dates alongside an explanation for the delay.

The delay of the two games won't be the best news for those who were patiently awaiting the games, especially when their initial release dates were just a short time away. The Inpatient was supposed to be released on Nov. 17, and Bravo team was expected to be out on Dec. 5. But the explanation from PlayStation that the developer of both of the virtual reality titles, Supermassive Games, needed more time to polish the games is one that can hardly face objections. The end result will be a better experience than one that was released on the initial date, so VR players will get the most out of the games next year instead of receiving a rough product.

For those unfamiliar with The Inpatient, it's a VR horror title set in the same universe as the decision-based horror game Until Dawn. Much likeUntil Dawn, your decisions that you make in the game will directly impact how the game progresses and ultimately how it will end. Multiple endings will be unlockable like they were in the first horror game that was centered around the Blackwood Sanitorium, but the VR aspect of the game will put the horror more tangible this time around.

Bravo Team is a starkly different experience from The Inpatient though, a VR shooter with online co-op play. Shooters are slowly but surely working their way into the VR arena, and Bravo Team looks like it'll be a game to try if you've been waiting for crossover between shooters and the PS VR.
