During the Paris Games Week event earlier this season, Sucker Punch, the creators of the Infamous game series, revealed what it was working on next – the atmospheric samurai adventure Ghost of Tsushima.
The game will have enormous presence at this weekend’s PlayStation Experience event, but, ahead of that, some eagle-eyed Reddit users have found first information on the character involved with the story, as a listing previously went up on PlayStation’s New Zealand page before being taken back down again. (The details can't be confirmed, so take this info with a grain of salt until Sucker Punch says something during the panel.)
Based on these early details, here’s what you need to know about the character:
“Steel and swordsmanship – you must master both to survive in this colossal quest across 1274 Japan, where the Mongol army has taken over Tsushima Island. Don your armour, sharpen your katana and strap on your longbow as you assume the role of Jin, a battered samurai who remains the island’s only hope against the ruthless Khan and his vicious empire.
“Through swaying bamboo forests, ornate castles and luscious landscapes one brave soul must fight back against overwhelming odds. Can you build your legend as “the Ghost” in a bloody tale of betrayal and sacrifice, inspired by classic samurai stories?”
The game sounds intriguing, to say the least, and we’ll get a better look at what it has to offer this weekend.
Ghost of Tsushima will release sometime in 2018 for PlayStation 4.
