Resident Evil 2 Director Opens Up About the Remake

The 20th anniversary of Resident Evil 2 has come and gone, and we were a little disappointed that we didn't get any kind of news, trailer, or announcements about the remake. There were multiple hints and teases -- at least what we perceived as hints and teases -- that seemed to point to something big happening to coincide with the anniversary. Sadly, we're still in the dark as to when we'll finally get our hands on Resident Evil 2 Remake.

That didn't stop Resident Evil 2's original director, Hideki Kamiya, from supplying fans with hype and confidence. Even though Kamiya has nothing to do with the remake, the project is still obviously near and dear to his heart, and long-time fans associate the franchise with Kamiya-san for obvious reasons.

Yesterday, as everyone had Resident Evil 2 on their minds, Kamiya-san's twitter account was flooded with questions and comments from fans, and he was more than willing to respond. See what he had to say about the upcoming remake:

As you can see, Kamiya-san is perfectly happy looking forward to news about Resident Evil 2 Remake just like we are. If what he says is to be believed, he hasn't even seen the game yet, which is oddly endearing. Since he played such a vital role in establishing the series, you'd think that he'd be eager to speak into the remake. It sounds like he understands that not everything needs to be exactly the same as it was 20 years ago, and he's given the current director free reign.

We're still hoping to see Resident Evil 2 Remake soon. As soon as we get any more information we'll let you know straight away.
