Ni No Kuni II

Think that the forthcoming Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom isn't a "big deal" when it comes to role-playing adventure? You might want to think again, especially since it'll take you a pretty good amount of time to get through it.

The team at WCCFTech recently posted an interview with the writer of the game, as well as president and CEO of the developers at Level-5, about what we can expect. Here's some of the information that Akihiro Hino provided.

First up, the discussion of how much playtime will be involved with the game was brought up. "We are currently adjusting the game, but it will be around 40 hours of gameplay in total. There will be features such as side quests or kingdom mode; however, if you include playing all features, it will take over 40 hours."

And for those expecting a similar world to the original Ni No Kuni, Hino didn't really have a straightforward answer. "We can't clarify whether characters or maps from the first game, Ni No Kuni, will appear in the game. However, Ni No Kuni 2 includes elements that will surely have fun for those who have played the previous game."

Hino also brought up the game coming to PC, marking a first-time development for Level-5 on the format. Asked why they were making Ni No Kuni II for the format, Hino explained, "Yes, the first reason is that other Japanese developers are succeeding with Steam games. But also another reason is that we are considering to broaden the range of players so that more overseas players could enjoy Ni No Kuni II."

And finally, he mentioned support for PlayStation 4 Pro, with a number of enhancements being planned. "Players could play the game in dynamic 4K mode on PS4 Pro," he said. "Also, resolution and framerate will be dynamic 4K and 60fps."

He also said, "HDR will be available on PS4."

You can read the full interview here, and it's pretty fascinating stuff if you're looking to dig a little deeper into the lore of Ni No Kuni.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will release on March 23 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
