A Kickstarter project called Shape of the World released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming game that offers a serene look at the peaceful explorations the game offers.

Developed by Hollow Tree Games, Shape of the World began development back in 2014. A goal of $75,000 in Canadian dollars was set on Kickstarter, a milestone that was broken with just under 1,200 backers committing to the project.

From the teaser trailer above that was uploaded to the game's YouTube channel recently on Aug. 9, the game seems to offer a unique twist on other exploration games with vibrant colors filling the landscapes that seems to be filled with forests, waterfalls, mountains, and other impressive features, according to the YouTube video's descriptions.

"Every step you take will leave a trace on the environment you're exploring," details for the game read. "The forest only materializes around you when you get close, regrowing in a new way each time you pass. As you wander, interacting with the environment, your choices will alter the world you discover in vibrant and unexpected ways, leaving you wondering what will happen with each path you forge and every hollow you stumble upon."

According to a recent update on the game's dev blog that was released with the trailer, the polishing touches are now being put on the game. After partnering with Plug In Digital and Seaven Studio to help bring the game to more platforms, a few more changes are set to be made before an upcoming release.

"The soundtrack is complete with interactive music from start to finish, and we're putting the remaining creature sounds in now," the most recent update reads. "The front-end UI has gone through a lot of work lately, including a full page of settings, and it all works with the controller."

Achievements and bugfixes are also part of the process that are going into the recent efforts. While the popping colors and diverse landscapes might bring games like No Man's Sky to mind, there won't be any combat included in this game, only exploration. Proteus and Flower are two games that are mentioned alongside the game, for reference.

Shape of the World is now scheduled for a launch in early 2018 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
