Capcom Hits Turned Into Surprisingly Stylish Sneakers

I'm going to tell you right now, I would wear the hell out of some official Street Fighter sneakers. I think it's because the Philadelphia-based sneaker boutique known as Ubiq kept things minimalist when partnering with Capcom on a sneaker collection inspired by their classic games. It certainly doesn't hurt that there's a whole lot of nostalgia value packed in there for a kid that spent a lot of time gaming in the late '80s and '90s.

The collection includes designs based on Mega Man, Street Fighter II, Monster Hunter and even Ghosts 'n Goblins. I know you've been pining for a pair of Ghosts 'n Goblins sneakers for pretty much your entire life right?

Footwear News notes that the Street Fighter and Ghosts 'n Goblins sneakers feature allover graphic prints, while the Monster Hunter design includes a textured appearance. The Mega Man style is the most subtle, with Mega Man in alternating poses on the left and right shoes.

All four styles are available to purchase now on a made-to-order basis. The shoes are expected to ship sometime in late November for 9800 Yen (around $88) at the Tokyo-based retailer Atmos. It appears that they are only available in Japan for the moment but, with any luck, they will end up for sale on the Ubiq website at some point. In the meantime, your best bet for getting custom retro gaming kicks is from talented artists on Etsy and from masters like Bobsmade.
