As filming began in February on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, cast members are now starting to wrap up their shooting. Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in the film, took to Twitter the other day to confirm that she had finished filming.

Karen tweeted, "That's a wrap on Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy 2! Thanks for giving me such an incredible experience and I can't wait for everyone to see." Later in the day, Director James Gunn also said farewell to the actress by tweeting, "And that's a wrap on @karengillan! Beloved by all, one of my favorite people, onscreen and off!"

In fact, James Gunn has been active on Twitter to update fans about the film's progress. When Karen Gillan posted a photo of her final day on set to Instagram, James Gunn responded in a tweet where he told fans that he, "can't wait for you guys to see how amazing Nebula is in #GotGvol2 @karengillan."

Karen Gillan confirmed her appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel last year. Released back in 2014, the franchise surprised fans who were unfamiliar with the comic as Guardians of the Galaxy became the highest-grossing superhero film of 2014. Filled with humor and thrilling intergalactic action, the film left fans begging for more, and their wish was granted when Marvel announced a sequel would be released May 2017

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is being kept under wraps, Karen Gillan has spoken about where she'd like to see Nebula's story go in the film. Speaking with Comic Book Resources, Karen said she'd be happy to explore the relationship between Gamora and her own character. She said, "I think what I'm really excited about it delving into the sisterly relationship between Gamora and Nebula. I think that we're going to see a little bit more of that, and it's going to be a bit more fleshed out."

Whether Karen Gillan's desire to explore that relationship is fulfilled in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is unknown, but the actress' fans are still buzzing as they wait to see her reprise Nebula next year.
